Black Swan
Black Swan. Swans are creatures that symbolize elegance and grace among other things. I am trying to create an original character, because drawing fan art can only offer you so much. I have decided that the most appropriate symbol for her is a black swan. I think that's pretty original, since most artists use image flowers!

Black Swan
I did this drawing on 9 x 12 paper using pencil, pen and colored crayons. You normally don't mess with crayon drawings on the PC, but I had to edit some stuff out and retouch a couple of things. The computer version of the black swan painting looks a lot better than the original, in my opinion.

Description of "Black Swan"
I used a reference photo for the head of the girl (a picture from a fashion magazine) and for the black swan (a photo of an Australian black swan). I also got inspired by the way feathers are drawn in manga to draw the black feathers. I had drawn a lot more feathers, but very often, when drawing, you come to realize that less is more, so I had to erase the extra feathers on the computer. I am still trying to decide on the woman's character. I want her to be a professional with some issues from her childhood hidden behind the graceful movements and the elegant black pantsuits, but it must not be terribly cliche! And she has to be a little evil. Not necessarily a villain, but a "meanie", definitely.
