This is Squall Leonhart, protagonist of Final Fantasy VIII, looking down at the viewer with a sad but determined look at once. Grace, vulnerability and strenght all at once. This is Squall Leonhart, the lion of Balamb. I can't take credit for this marvellous pose though, because I used a picture of a Squall cosplayer as reference.
Comments on style
The Squall pic was one of those late night drawings which turn out really great in a really short period of time. Off course, I have drawn a lot of fan art of Squall and his outfit comes easy for me to draw now. I used a plain pencil for this one and then applied the
(very cool) cutout effect in Photoshop and did some layer tricks. The pic turned out sketchy looking in a good way.
